Description

In the barrel aging process, unroasted coffee is stored in used spirit casks to absorb the aroma and flavor of the alcohol and wood. Our friends at Sweet Rust provided La Prima with bourbon barrels, and we aged coffee from Brazil Cerrado for two weeks. Nonno Vecchio - Italian for "Old Granddad" -  is the result.  The apple and nutty flavor from Brazilian coffee is accentuated by oak, vanilla, and caramel notes imparted by the bourbon barrels.
