Description
Since its founding in 1989 by 20 Mayan coffee and cardamom farmers, ASOBAGRI (The Asociacion Barillense de Agricultores) has grown to include 1,200 cooperative members from approximately 30 small villages in the Huehuetenango region. The association promotes sustainable agriculture by training farmers in organic production methods. This particular coffee is shade grown under guava, plantain, and banana trees. The resulting organic coffee is buttery and especially sweet in the cup.
